I liked the film for its realism. I especially liked the metaphor of a goldfish which characterises the protagonist very well. You immediately have a rhetorical question: Will Phoenix be able to grow further if he believes that he has everything? I think it’s unlikely. I don’t judge the protagonist, he’s really happy in his world, but I’m more inclined to believe that you should always be growing, take on life’s challenges, because if you aren’t growing, you’re degrading.
