Karla & Nordahl

Karla is 6 years old and has a big brother named Nordahl. Why does she consider him as both her big and little brother? We get an insight into Karla’s world and how she deals with having an elder brother with learning difficulties.The director followed her own children through a winter showing their everyday life, including both demanding situations and heartfelt love.

Elisabeth Aspelin has primarily worked as an editor of television series and short documentaries. Karla & Nordahl is her debut as a director.

Six-year-old Karla didn’t leave our audience indifferent with her positive attitude. We discussed what is needed for the education and integration into school life for children with special educational needs. Using the example of the film, we talked about the accessibility of our education institution for children such as Nordahl.
